Project 2C ~ The Mask

For project 2C, we have to make a mask which can represent our identity. It made me recall back my childhood memory when i was in primary school. Now we were asked to produce a full face mask made of papier mache. Since this project require us to work in pairs, so i cooperate with my friend to accomplish the task.

These are the materials that i bought at Tesco to produce the mask. For examples, tissue paper, aluminium foil, food wrapper, rope, flour, and etc. Producing a mask is not an easy job for me as my face get itchy when the flour stick to my face. So i work out with a method by cover my face with a sheet of aluminium foil before put on the papier mache.

After finish making my mask, i found that my mask looks not so nice. So i try to ask my friend how they do their mask. One of them tell me that they use a kind of clay which can get from Durimas. In the hope of producing a better mask, i have bought that clay. Once again, i asked my friend to apply the clay on my face. However, thing does not happened as what i expect. The making of a new mask was unsuccessful. Lastly i submit my mask which looks like "Power Ranger"

This is the clay i bought at Durimas.

I wear this mask for my project 5a - Merdeka Object Installation on 28th August 2009. This is my "Power Ranger" pose. Swt!!!
